Shears | Scissors
Scissors are a tool used for cutting thin material which requires little force.
Scissors have two pivoted blades. Most types of Scissors are not particularly sharp; it is primarily the shearing between the two blades which cuts.
Scissors were most probably invented around 1500 BC by the ancient Egyptians.
They were more likely shears with the joint at the far end.
Modern cross-bladed scissors were invented by Romans in and around AD 100. A Shears is a scissor type tool of a comparatively large size. Like scissors, Shears work with the combination of slightly offset jaws to cut material through physical Shears, and combine this with levers to apply a considerable shear force.
The origination of Shears actually came into being for cutting much heavier material than scissors.
Generally for the use in cosmetology, barbers use four kinds of Shears for their purposes.
A bronze Shears is used for basic styling like trimming, blending and moustaches.
Silver Shears are designed for the purpose of general cutting, like a layer or a straight cut.
A gold Shears is known to be the best cutting tool in the industry, being manufactured from steel. It is the densest in nature and is developed to be put to long term use.
A texturing or the barber Shears on the other hand provides the barber speed and accuracy for the purpose of movement and placement.
